Too often, Christian leadership is neither.

It’s not really Christian, and it’s not really leadership.

What does it mean to be a Christian?

It means to be a little Christ. It means we long to be formed into the image of Jesus. Thankfully, Galatians 5 gives us a pretty good description of what that doesn’t look like (vs. 19-21), and what that does look like (vs. 22-23).

And, what does it mean to be a Leader?

It means to have followers. To be a leader means you have others who are following you.

So, what does it mean to be a Christian Leader?

It means to be like Jesus while you interact with those who are following you.

“Neithers” do not relate to their followers as Jesus did to his followers.

Becoming a Christian Leader presents a lifetime of significant challenges.

This is why we have the Holy Spirit.
This is why we have God’s Word.
This is why we have friendships.
This is why we have other Christian Leaders.

…to help us become more like Jesus.

And, when people start to follow in our footsteps, we help them to become more like Jesus too.

This is Christian Leadership.
